  Why on earth would WT use a FEMALE lawyer to defend it in Australia case?

  Sitting Still at Meetings has Become an Impossibility

  since i know the truth about jw, and still have to go to meetings for family reasons (and because i don't want to leave my friends, either) i get so sick in my chair in the hall.

  i can't pay attention, i can't sit still knowing it's all such a waste of time and a big fat lie.

  i get weird symptoms like: the feeling that i'm going to almost pass out, very sweaty or very cold, and weak legs though i'm sitting down, and the urge to get up and run away.

  i tried to fade off the map by moving 30 miles initially in 2004 after i exited in late 2003 .

  the first several years they didn't bother me.

  i ran into a elder from my former congregation in late 2005 in an antique store - he tried telling me i was wrong for stopping attending meetings.

  This little incident occured, I guess they wanted to protect the planet from my evil ways.

  Hi,

  I have been reading COC and ISOCF in the train every morning and noticed some funny stuff occurring.

  This witness (I knew because I have seen her before reading jw literature, she probably saw me as well before reading a jw book but we never spoke), she spotted somehow and knew that I was reading apostate books, I was on the far left of the train and she was on the far right, I have good peripheral vision and noticed her having a good look at me ( to advise spiritual policemen) and when I turned my head to the right she would quickly look away, this happened on two occasions.

  After a week or so I was sitting in the same spot and on the far left there was another women who I had never seen before, I didn’t noticed her at all until I heard the noise of camera taking a picture (most likely a mobile making the noise of a camera when taking a picture, which most do), again I turned my head around to the right and she somehow magically fell asleep in an instance, one second she is taking a photo the other she’s asleep ahahah.

  I feel like there’s a spiritual gun turned to my head, little do they know that I’m not even a un-bathtised publisher. I regret taking a book study and I have a funny feeling that my liberal studies are going to back fire on me, my parents being JW’s Im not certain what will happen.

  My only own regret when I left

  my parents are still witnesses, i read coc, isocf and conceptoc, then decided not to attend meetings.. i told them everything i knew about what was written and this pushed them away from me and further into the "truth", we still talk like a normal family but when a topic merges that i speak about jw's i get shunned, they don't comment.

  i didn't understand why they continued to believe after i mentioned gb voting system, un, and others, i also mentioned about ray franz and what the bible really says, dad asked me why not i just join his (ray's) religion since i know so much.. i knew about hassans books but didn't see them necessary at the time, but i didn't understand why they are acting this way.

  i just finished releasing the bonds, now i understand why they acted the way they did and why they didn't listen, my only regret was not reading this and combating cult mind control earlier.. so we were all brought up in the truth, all my family members are in the truth, during the years they were taught not to think anything negative about the religion - that's how you loose part of your critical thinking skills (remenber how the brothers kept remind of how happy we all are.).

  Cagefighter: They are not killing baby seals or drownning puppies, but they are living and breathing a lie, wasting their life years on fruitless and false preaching and meeting attendance, shunning people and dying by their suicide cards, living with irrational fears (phobias) and promoting conditional love.

  But the key issue is they are not doing these things on purpose, they are genuily misguided, and the problem is not that our concerns can not be voiced but how they should be voiced.

  thank you all for your input.

  OnTheWayOut: I hear you, Steven latter book is more complete, try not to discuss jw stuff but rather give them back the tools to critically think (explained in the book). This book came with a A4 letter saying that SIA approach does not work in all cases and that professional counselling is advised.

  What Was Nathan Knorr Like Compared To The Other Presidents?

  brother knorr is rarely mentioned in the awake or watchtower and i don't really know much about him.

  is there a reason why brother knorr does not receive as much mention as brother russell, rutherford or even frantz?

  can you help me understand why he was like?

  Prayer was another issue, mum prayed allot after she heard me speak about things against the WB&TS - prayers done systematically can block what is considered negativity by the person doing the prayer

  I said things that for them seemed that I wanted them to change to another religion when in fact it's general Christianity. - I should have been more careful and shown 'd my motives to be out of true love-true love overcomes conditional love.

  There are others, but if I opted for SIA's approach when my parents were not aware of my understandings about the WB&TS, things could be different now. I understand the situation and myself a lot more know.

  I see many ex-witnesses making the same mistake as I.

  So now I am stuck.
